PAUWES, with support from GIZ, in collaboration with Sustainability Institute, Stellenbosch University is organizing the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Boot camps for students in both Energy and Water tracks.
The entrepreneurship boot camp aims to ignite some interest in entrepreneurship and to unlock a hunger to be entrepreneurial. The first part of the boot camp will look at some of the current trends on the continent, discussing the needs and opportunities of the future Africa. The second part of the course will shift focus to what it means to be entrepreneurial in business, government and civil society. The facilitator considers entrepreneurship as a transversal skill, and will, therefore, cover content that develops an entrepreneurial mindset – a combination of 21st-century skills and thinking that unlock particular attitudes and behaviors. These include having a growth mindset (versus a fixed mindset) and hunger for lifelong learning, applying critical thinking skills to problem-solving and equipping you to spot opportunities and generate ideas. This session will start on 6th (Sunday) and end on the 8th (Tuesday), for both 4th and 5th cohort students of PAUWES.
The leadership boot camp will take you through the three components of leadership: Leading Self, Leading Others, and Leading Change. Each section will provide the latest research and tools and will offer an opportunity for embodied learning and practice. Under Leading Self, you will be given tools to develop a deeper relationship with yourself so that you can harness your authentic power. You will also learn to appreciate your strengths and accept your weaknesses. Leading others, you will learn how to create social safety so that others around you can thrive, grow and develop. You will learn about how different personality types function, how diversity trumps ability and the importance of growing women in today’s workforce. Finally, under Leading Change, you will learn how to assess the current states of organisations and how to use influence and inspire in order to design exciting and sustainable shifts. The facilitator draws from neuroscience, ontology, anthropology and psychology to create deep learning and facilitate shifts.
It session will also start on 9th (Wednesday) and end on 10th (Thursday) with both, 4th and 5th cohort.
We will be happy to have you all!
