PAUWES Celebrates the  World Mother Language Day and African Languages ​​Week 

 

On the 21 February 2023, at the Centre for Andalusian Studies in Mansoura, the dual celebration of the International Mother Language Day and the African Languages Week organized by the High Governorate of the Amazigh Language in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture and Arts of the Wilaya of Tlemcen was held the World Mother Language Day and African Languages ​​Week. In the presence of Mr Noureddine Ghouali, Advisor to the President of the Republic, Representative of the President of the Republic the Secretary-General of the High Governorate, Mr Hashemi Isad, and his accompanying delegation, Mr A. Marmouri, Wali of the State People’s Assembly, Security and Local Authorities, Ms Meriem Chorfi, National Commissioner for Child Protection and Promotion, and the participation of the university family represented by Professor Morad Meghachou, Director of the University of Tlemcen, his deputies, Members of civil society and the Supreme Council for Youth, professors and specialists from various Algerian universities and the media family. 

The Secretary-General of the High Governorate, together with Mr Al-Wali and their accompanying delegation, oversaw the launch of the exhibition of various activities of cultural, scientific, local and national societies participating in the book and audiovisual salon and the writing and translation workshop in the Amazigh language in the presence of writers, translators and publishing house officials.  

The Secretary-General of the High Governorate, together with Mr Al-Wali and the delegation accompanying them, then oversaw the opening of the dual celebration of International Mother Tongue Day and African Week. The Secretary-General of the High Governorate, together with Mr Al-Wali, honoured Mr Mustafa Haberi, Former Director of the Directorate General of Civil protection. Thereafter, a press symposium was held with the participation of representatives of the local and national audiovisual and written media family. 

Subsequently, the Secretary-General of the High Governorate of Amazigh, together with the President of the State People’s Assembly and the delegation accompanying them, went to the municipality of Beni Snous, where he supervised the following activities: 

  • Video screening on the observance of International Mother Language Day and African Languages Week 
  • Animating a scientific conference on the importance of the dual observance of International Mother Language Day and African Languages Week in partnership with the African Academy of Languages. 
  • Installation of mid-level art and cinema workshops “Kadiri Hussein” in the municipality of Beni Snous. 

Al-Azayel Municipality was the station loyal to Mr Hachemi Assad, Secretary-General of the High Governorate of Amazigh, where he oversaw the opening of a workshop in partnership with the Algerian Centre for the Cultural Heritage Built-in Mud (Wilaya of Timimon) for vocational educators and associations interested in the restoration of the old minors.
